26-year-old female rider linked to fatal accident on Maizeland Road in early October
The Colorado Springs Police Department has identified the individual who tragically lost their life in a motorcycle accident on Maizeland Road in early October. The victim, 26-year-old Megumi Morris, was discovered by authorities around 4:40 p.m. following reports of the crash. Initial findings suggest that Morris was traveling eastbound on Maizeland Rd. when the accident occurred. Despite efforts from emergency responders to save Morris, she succumbed to her injuries. The CSPD has clarified that the incident is still being investigated, but they do not suspect speed or alcohol played a role. Regrettably, this marks the 45th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year, an increase from the same period last year when there were 40 fatalities.
