
24-Year-Old Bull Rider Dylan Grant Dies in Bull Riding Mishap
The rodeo community is deeply saddened by the passing of Dylan Grant, a talented 24-year-old bull rider who tragically lost his life following a bull riding event in Wharton, Texas. Grant was participating in the Wharton County Youth Fair Xtreme Bulls competition on April 3 when he suffered fatal injuries in the second round after being thrown off by a bull, as reported by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). Despite the efforts of medics at the event to stabilize him, Grant was airlifted to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries. Hailing from Laramie, Wyoming, Grant was a seasoned competitor in various ProRodeo and Xtreme Bulls events, earning $3,760 this season and a total of $15,710 overall, as indicated on the ProRodeo website. He achieved multiple victories as a bull rider, including a significant win at the 2021 Mountain States Circuit Finals Rodeo while representing the University of Wyoming rodeo team. The Wharton County Youth Fair expressed their heartfelt condolences to Grant's family and loved ones, sharing a message of support on their Facebook page: "Our sincere condolences to Dylan’s family.
