22-year-old man dies, 2 hurt near Meadow Lakes
A 22-year-old man lost his life in a tragic accident after crashing into a tree in Fresno County. The incident occurred early Wednesday morning near Meadow Lakes when a Toyota pickup truck failed to navigate a curve, veered off the road, and collided with a tree. The driver and one passenger, who were both wearing seatbelts, sustained serious injuries. However, a 22-year-old passenger in the rear seat, who was not wearing a seatbelt, tragically passed away at the scene. The victims were rescued by the Auberry Volunteer Fire Department after plummeting down a 200-foot embankment. The driver was taken by ground ambulance to Clovis Community Medical Center, while the other injured passenger was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center. Reports indicate that the group was in the area to observe meteor showers.
