22-year-old faces intoxication manslaughter charges in Denton chef's death.

A tragic incident occurred on Friday night in Denton, resulting in the death of a beloved chef from The Chestnut Tree restaurant. The victim, identified as 58-year-old Rossana Cacal, was a passenger in a vehicle that was struck while turning at an intersection. The driver of the other vehicle, identified as 22-year-old Noah Kendrick, has been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter. The collision took place at the intersection of West Windsor Drive and Northway around 10 p.m. It was determined that the vehicle Cacal was in failed to yield the right of way while turning, leading to the crash. Kendrick faced charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle. Although all occupants were taken to the hospital, tragically Cacal succumbed to her injuries. Kendrick was treated, released from the hospital, and has been detained in the City of Denton Jail on a $62,500 bond. The driver of Cacal's vehicle was also injured but has since been discharged from the hospital.
