20-year-old cyclist dies after colliding with utility vehicle in Riverton
A young man, 21, was tragically killed in Riverton on Thursday morning after being hit by a utility truck while riding an e-bike. The incident occurred at the intersection of 1300 West and 12600 South around 6 a.m. Authorities suspect the truck ran a red light, striking Owen Thomsen, who was thrown over 180 feet by the impact. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Thomsen passed away. Law enforcement is currently investigating the incident, citing potential high speeds as a contributing factor. Although the driver and passenger of the truck remained at the scene, no arrests have been made at this time.
