20-year-old crashes into Mormon church while intoxicated
A 20-year-old driver crashed his vehicle into a meetinghouse belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in West Valley, Utah, while intoxicated, as reported by the local police department. The incident occurred over the weekend during an argument between a male and a female passenger in the vehicle. The driver, who was under the influence, has since been arrested and detained. Charges are pending against him, including DUI-under 21 (Class B misdemeanor) and DV Property Damage (Class A misdemeanor). Both individuals sustained minor injuries. Due to the damage caused, a building inspector has deemed the meetinghouse temporarily unfit for occupancy.
