2-year-old killed in St. Tammany Parish crash
ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A 2-year-old child from Slidell is dead following a crash that occurred in St. Tammany Parish on Thursday, April 24. According to the Louisiana State Police, troopers with Troop L began responding to the crash, which occurred on Interstate 12, west of the LA Highway 59 exit, shortly before 11:50 a.m. The initial investigation reportedly shows a 2011 Ford F-150 was heading east on I-12 when it veered off the roadway to the right and hit a tree. The driver and passenger were both properly restrained and seriously injured. They were taken to a hospital for treatment. 2-year-old Preston Ordone was improperly restrained in a child safety seat in the rear passenger area. He was also seriously injured and taken to a hospital, though he later died due to his injuries. A routine toxicology sample was taken from the driver as part of the ongoing investigation.
