
2 people killed in 4 serious crashes on New Hampshire roads on Friday
Two people were killed in four serious crashes in New Hampshire on Friday, officials said.In Dover, police said a man was killed when his vehicle crashed into a utility pole in the area of Sixth Street and County Farm Cross Road just after midnight.Approximately 12 hours later, a dump truck crashed into an SUV on Route 28 in Ossipee, killing the driver of the SUV, according to New Hampshire State Police.>> Download the free WMUR app to get updates on the go: Apple | Google Play <<Neighbors who heard the crash in Ossipee tried to help."There was a car on the other side of the road all smashed in on the driver's side, and I knew there was nothing you could do there," said Paul Ciccotelli, a witness. "And I went back, and so a couple of us helped the guy out on the dump truck." Officials said the driver of the dump truck survived the crash.>> Subscribe to WMUR's YouTube channel <<In addition to the two deadly crashes in Dover and Ossipee, several other serious crashes happened in New Boston and in Franklin.The New Boston Fire Department said around 2:30 p.m., crews responded to a single-car crash on Route 77 near Dodge Road. Officials said both the driver and the one passenger were extricated from the car and were hospitalized for their injuries.Just hours later, the Franklin Fire Department confirmed with News 9 that a motorcyclist was driving on Prospect Street when he went off the road and crashed into a pile of rocks. Officials said the motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with head trauma. No other vehicles were involved, according to Franklin fire.Officials are investigating the crashes in Dover, Ossipee, New Boston and Franklin.
