2 people hurt in Daytona Beach accident when vehicle goes off road, say officials
Two individuals were injured in a car accident over the weekend in Daytona Beach, according to officials. The incident occurred when a vehicle veered off the road and traveled 50 yards into a wooded area. The Daytona Beach Fire Department responded to the scene at the intersection of Tomoka Farms Road and Dunn Avenue. Emergency responders found an SUV deep in the woods with one person trapped inside. Firefighters stabilized the vehicle, conducted extrication, and provided patient care. Both individuals involved were transported to the hospital by Volusia County EMS, one of whom was declared a trauma alert. Authorities have not yet disclosed the identities or current medical conditions of the individuals. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Daytona Beach Police Department.
