2 killed, 2 injured in south side crash
INDIANAPOLIS - An investigation is underway after two men were killed and two others were injured in a two-car crash on Indy's south side Saturday morning. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, around 2:30 a.m., officers with the Beech Grove Police Department observed a gray Dodge Challenger driving recklessly near the intersection of S. Sherman Drive & E. Thompson Road. Officers initiated a short pursuit of the Challenger, but it was terminated shortly after when officers lost sight of the vehicle. A minute later, a crash occurred at the intersection of Carson Avenue & S. Keystone Avenue. Investigators found two vehicles involved, including the challenger that Beech Grove officers had chased a few minutes prior. IMPD said two men in one vehicle were killed in the crash and two other men in the Challenger were transported to an area hospital for treatment. At least one occupant was detained for further investigation, police said. IMPD said it's investigating the crash and Beech Grove PD is assisting in the investigation.
