2 individuals fatally wounded in Vermont Square head-on collision; infant among deceased, 2 others critically hurt
A tragic head-on collision in Vermont Square resulted in the deaths of two individuals, including an infant, on Monday night. The Los Angeles Police Department reported the incident occurred around 11:36 p.m. near 46th Street and Western Avenue. A white Kia traveling northbound on Western Avenue at a high speed crossed into the southbound lanes and collided with a black Kia carrying three occupants. The driver of the white Kia and the 6-month-old infant in the black Kia were killed, while a man and a woman from the black Kia were taken to a local trauma center in serious condition. The circumstances that led to the white Kia driver veering into oncoming traffic are still under investigation by the LAPD.
