2 dead after crash, vehicle fire on Ridgewood Road in Winston-Salem
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A crash killed two people early Monday morning in Winston-Salem, police say. According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, they were called to a crash on Ridgewood Road. At the scene, they found a vehicle off the road and engulfed in flames. The fire department extinguished the fire. The driver and a passenger inside the vehicle were dead at the scene. Police believe that the vehicle was driving north on Ridgewood Road towards High Point Road when it, for unknown reasons, lost control on a curve and ran off the road. The vehicle hit a tree and a fire started. The identity of the victims have not been released. The road remains closed and the investigation is ongoing.
