
2 dead, 2 injured in Dallas North Tollway crash
Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety say two people died, and two others were injured in an early Sunday morning crash.The crash happened in the southbound lanes of Dallas North Tollway, just north of Hwy. 635. The vehicles collided head-on, DPS says.A preliminary investigation indicated that a 2020 Dodge Durango was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes before the driver struck a 2018 Mercedes CLA250 head-on.The driver of the Dodge Durango was transported to Plano Presbyterian Hospital with serious injuries. Officials say intoxication is suspected. Officials say the driver of the Mercedes died at the scene and a passenger was transported to Dallas Presbyterian Hospital and pronounced dead at the hospital. A second passenger was transported to Dallas Presbyterian Hospital with critical injuries. The identities of the people involved have not been released, pending next-of-kin notifications.The crash shut down the Dallas North Tollway for hours, but investigators have since reopened the highway.The crash is still under investigation.
