2-car collision leaves 1 dead, 1 hospitalized
A tragic incident occurred in Green Oak Township resulting in one fatality. The driver of a Pontiac G6 lost control on a curve at 9 Mile Road and Hammerstone Drive, colliding with oncoming traffic. The passenger in the front seat of the truck, a 53-year-old woman from South Lyon, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Pontiac driver, a 28-year-old man from South Lyon, sustained injuries and is expected to recover fully. The driver of the truck, a 26-year-old man from Linden, was unharmed. Seatbelts were worn by all individuals involved. The Green Oak Township Police are investigating the incident to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
