
2 arrested in fatal 2024 multi-vehicle crash in Waterbury
WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- Two people were arrested in connection with a deadly multi-vehicle crash in Waterbury that happened last year, police said. Police said the crash, involving three cars, happened on Dec. 29, 2024, around 3:13 a.m. in the area of Baldwin Street. Authorities said a 2013 Dodge Dart, a 2018 Ford EcoSport, and a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee were involved in the crash. The Jeep driver fled the scene before police arrived. The passenger of the Dodge Dart, 46-year-old Andrea Sherman of Waterbury, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Troy Kelley, 47, who police said was driving the Dodge Dart, was arrested on April 10. He was charged with manslaughter in the second degree with a motor vehicle, reckless driving, insufficient insurance, failure to renew registration, operating under the influence, traveling too fast for conditions, reckless endangerment in the first degree, and three other similar charges. The driver of the Jeep, identified as Wilson Guerrero-Campoverde, 22, of Waterbury, was arrested on April 10 and charged with evading responsibility.
