2 arrested following chase turned multi-vehicle crash
MIAMISBURG, Ohio (WDTN) – East Linden Avenue and South 1st Street were both shut down following a chase that turned into a multi-vehicle crash on Thursday, May 14. A black Sedan was reportedly flying through town on First Street when it ran through a red light, rammed into a blue SUV, and then rebounded into a parked green car. After the collision, the driver of the Sedan got out of the car and took off running. According to the Franklin Police Chief, Adam Colon, he attempted to head down the river a couple of blocks away. Once they managed to get him out, they arrested the 31-year-old man. The black Sedan was determined to be a stolen vehicle from Dayton. Inside the car was also a female passenger, who complied with the police once the car was surrounded. Crews determined that the only other person involved was the driver of the blue SUV, who was taken to a nearby hospital. The driver of the Sedan was also taken to the hospital. "The Miamisburg PD was kind enough to ggo get him out of the river and arrest him," said Colon. "He was taken to the hospital for precautionary checking. He was a 31-year-old male from Dayton, unlicensed driver, had a warrant out for his arrest also."
