18-year-old man faces charges following deadly weekend collision in Tooele County.

An 18-year-old man from Riverton named Jaxon Douglas-David Wood was arrested and charged in Tooele County with automobile homicide, reckless endangerment, DUI, and other charges following a fatal crash in the Rush Valley area over the weekend. The crash, which occurred around 2:45 a.m. on Sunday on state Route 36, involved a pickup truck that veered off the road, rolled, and ejected both occupants. Sadly, a 16-year-old boy who was a passenger in the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. Wood, who admitted to driving, showed signs of impairment such as slurred speech and balance issues when approached by troopers. He mentioned he had been traveling from a bonfire party where he had been drinking.
