18-wheeler wreck kills one on Highway 412 in Siloam Springs

At least one person was killed in a crash involving four vehicles on U.S. Highway 412 in Siloam Springs, according to the Benton County coroner.The wreck happened around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Siloam Springs police said it was one of the worst crashes they’ve seen in years.Several people were injured and taken to the hospital, though police could not confirm how many.The person who died has not yet been identified. Police said they are waiting to notify the family before releasing a name.Officers are still reconstructing the crash to determine what happened. Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including Benton County deputies and the Siloam Springs Fire Department.“Officers are working on getting all the details possible,” said Chief Deputy Derek Spicer of the Siloam Springs Police Department. “Obviously, anytime there’s a fatality, things ramp up a little bit. It takes a little bit more work. So we’re doing the best we can.”
