14-year-old dirt bike rider killed in Ewa collision
A tragic accident involving a dirt bike fatality took place in Ewa Beach, Hawaii on August 20th. A 75-year-old driver struck a 14-year-old biker as they were crossing Kolowaka Drive. The principal of Campbell High School expressed sorrow over the loss of a student in the incident. The biker was in a marked crosswalk against the red signal and was not wearing a helmet. Despite receiving advanced life support from emergency responders, the biker tragically passed away in the hospital. This event marks the 54th traffic fatality on Oahu in 2025, doubling the number from the previous year. Campbell High School is providing resources to support those affected by the tragedy.
