11 drivers arrested by Fresno Police at DUI checkpoint.
The Fresno Police Department shared the outcome of a DUI checkpoint conducted in central Fresno over the weekend. 11 drivers were apprehended for suspicion of driving under the influence among the 406 vehicles examined. Additionally, at the Cedar and Gettysburg avenue junction, 23 drivers were ticketed for driving without a valid license or with a revoked/suspended license. The Fresno PD selects checkpoint locations based on reported impaired driving incidents to reduce related accidents. This effort received funding from a grant by the California Office of Traffic Safety, facilitated through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
