10-car accident on I-95 in Richmond sends 4 to hospital
Four individuals are now being hospitalized following a multi-vehicle accident that occurred on Interstate 95 southbound in Richmond on Friday morning. The incident, which took place around 9:15 a.m. near Exit 74C close to West Broad Street, involved three separate crashes in the same vicinity, as reported by the Virginia State Police. The initial crash was sparked by a silver sedan losing control and colliding, subsequently leading to additional crashes, one of which involved a tractor-trailer that became positioned across all lanes. In total, ten vehicles were impacted by the chain of collisions, resulting in four people sustaining injuries that are reported as not life-threatening. By 11:42 a.m., the Virginia Department of Transportation declared that the area had been cleared, and normal traffic flow had been restored.
