
1 person killed in Monticello collision with semi and other vehicles
A tragic four-vehicle collision in Monticello resulted in the loss of a life on Wednesday evening, as reported by the Minnesota State Patrol. The incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. on Interstate 94 near Highway 25. Involved in the crash were a Freightliner semi-truck, a Chevy Traverse, a Ford F-350, and a Ford Focus. The crash report from the Minnesota State Patrol mentioned that all four vehicles were traveling eastbound on I-94 when a rear-end collision took place. Unfortunately, the passenger in the Chevy Traverse, Susan Rintoul Rintoul, 69, from Minot, North Dakota, lost her life in the accident as she was not wearing a seat belt. The driver of the same vehicle, a 71-year-old man from Minot, North Dakota, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Minor injuries were reported for the drivers of the Ford F-350 and Ford Focus, while the semi-truck driver remained unharmed. The eastbound lanes of I-94 had to be closed for a few hours while authorities investigated the scene. At present, specifics on the cause of the crash have not been disclosed.
