1 person hurt in I-81 accident with 2 semi-trucks
A multi-vehicle accident occurred in Greene County on Sunday afternoon involving two semi-trucks. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported that a Freightliner from New Jersey collided with the back of another Freightliner that had stopped on the shoulder, leading to debris hitting a Mercedes E35 and a Ford Explorer. The driver of the first semi-truck, Avaliani Giorgi, 35, was injured and charged with due care. The accident took place at 2:23 p.m., with the northbound right lane and shoulder remaining closed as of 5:51 p.m., as per the Tennessee Department of Transportation's SmartWay Map.
