1 person hurt in Highway 30 rollover crash

A teenager was flown to the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 30 yesterday morning. According to a statement from the Clinton County Sheriff's Office, deputies, along with the DeWitt Fire Department and MercyOne Genesis Ambulance, responded to a rollover accident in the westbound lanes on January 5 around 7:57 a.m. The driver, a 17-year-old boy, was ejected from the vehicle during the incident and was discovered lying near the overturned vehicle in the ditch on the north side of the highway. After being initially taken to MercyOne Genesis Hospital in DeWitt, the teenager was later airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for further treatment. As of now, there is no update on his current condition. The accident is currently being investigated by the Clinton County Sheriff's Office, with assistance provided by various agencies including the Iowa State Patrol, DeWitt Police Department, Iowa Air Care, MercyOne Genesis Ambulance, DeWitt Fire Department, and Low Moor First Responders.
