1 killed, multiple hurt in Trowbridge Twp crash that ends with truck in lake
TROWBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — One person was killed and multiple people were hurt in a Trowbridge Township crash that ended with a truck in a lake on Saturday. Around 7:30 p.m., deputies with the Allegan County Sheriff's Office were sent to Baseline Road near Hillside Drive for a crash. Responding deputies learned that a westbound truck crossed the centerline and sideswiped an eastbound truck. The westbound truck then went off the roadway, hitting several people and a tree before overturning in a shallow portion of Baseline Lake. Two people who were not in a vehicle were hurt. They were taken to the hospital, where one of them died, the sheriff's office said. The second person's condition has not been released. Two people from the westbound truck were also taken to the hospital for treatment, the sheriff's office said. Their conditions haven't been released. No one in the eastbound truck was hurt. Deputies believe that alcohol and speed were factors in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
