1 killed in crash as car falls off I-4 overpass onto SR-46
A fatal accident has closed a section of State Road 46 in Sanford following a collision where a car drove over the Interstate 4 overpass, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. on Monday when a man operating a 2008 Honda Accord veered off Interstate 4, struck a guardrail, and fell onto SR-46. Upon descending from the overpass, the Honda Accord collided with a 2015 Mercedes Benz driven by a 21-year-old woman on SR-46. Sadly, the Honda driver was pronounced deceased at the site, while the woman in the Mercedes was unharmed. SR-46 is currently blocked in both directions between Towne Center Boulevard and Wayside Drive, with limited access to the eastbound I-4 ramp from Towne Center Boulevard.
