1 fatality in 5-vehicle collision on I-74 in Indiana
A tragic incident occurred on Saturday in Vermillion County, Indiana, where a person lost their life in a five-vehicle collision on Interstate 74. According to a statement from the authorities, the Indiana State Police were called to the scene at mile marker two of I-74 westbound around 10:30 p.m. The initial collision happened when a driver traveling eastbound on the interstate veered into the median and collided with a vehicle heading westbound. Sadly, the driver of the eastbound vehicle was fatally injured. Additionally, two others sustained injuries in the crash. Following the initial collision, two other drivers stopped to help the victims, and their vehicles were also struck by another driver, resulting in a total of five vehicles involved. The investigation is ongoing, and details about the crash are still being looked into by the Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team. While the identity of the deceased individual is being withheld pending notification of their family, the injured victims are receiving medical attention at local hospitals.
