1 fatality in 5-car accident, Westbound I-30 at Sycamore shut down
A fatal collision involving multiple vehicles on Interstate 30 resulted in the closure of all westbound lanes on Monday morning. The incident, which occurred near the 1800 block of the East Freeway around 6:26 a.m., involved at least five vehicles. Regrettably, one passenger lost their life, and no other significant injuries were reported. Emergency responders pronounced the individual dead at the scene. Central and East Traffic units responded to the crash site, and a thorough investigation was conducted by traffic detectives leading to the closure of all westbound lanes as details were examined.
