
1 fatality, 3 injured in fiery wreck on I-85 in Orange County according to NCSHP
A fatal collision occurred on a highway in Orange County, North Carolina on Friday afternoon. The crash involved a single vehicle that veered off the road and caught fire near the intersection of Interstate 85 north and Interstate 40 east close to US-70 and Chapel Hill. There were four occupants in the vehicle, with one individual losing their life in the incident. The other three occupants sustained injuries, with one being airlifted by a medical helicopter and the others transported by ambulance to receive medical attention. The crash led to the closure of all four lanes on both interstates up to exit 161 to US-70, but the roads were reopened around an hour after the accident.
