1 fatality, 1 person hurt in Montaño I-25 vehicle flip
Albuquerque police are currently looking into a tragic rollover accident that occurred on Sunday near Montaño and I-25, resulting in the death of a passenger in the vehicle. The incident took place at around 4:15 p.m. when authorities received a report of a single-vehicle crash in the area of southbound Pan American Freeway NE and Montaño Rd NE. Sadly, the passenger passed away at the scene, while the driver was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Preliminary reports suggest that a silver Toyota RAV4 was heading south on Pan American in the center lane when it veered across traffic just before the Montaño intersection, ultimately going off the road. The vehicle became airborne and crashed off the roadway. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
