1 dead in Milwaukee County crash; northbound highway lanes shut
A fatal crash occurred near Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport on Tuesday, Aug. 12, resulting in one casualty. The Milwaukee Police Department is currently conducting an investigation close to the Howell Ave tunnel. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office was called to the scene. According to police, a bicyclist traveling north in the tunnel fell off the bike into oncoming traffic and was fatally hit. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation reported that all northbound lanes at Wisconsin Highway 38 are closed as a result of the accident, and the incident remains under investigation. The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash cooperated with authorities.
