
1 dead, 2 injured in three-car accident on Whaleyville Boulevard: Police
A fatal collision occurred on Whaleyville Boulevard early Friday morning, resulting in the death of a man and injuries to two others. Suffolk Police responded to a report of a three-vehicle accident around 8 a.m. at the 3900 block of Whaleyville Boulevard. The crash involved two cars and a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV), with one fatality in the first car and serious injuries to another occupant who was taken to a nearby hospital. A third person from a separate vehicle sustained minor injuries and was also hospitalized, while the CMV driver was unharmed. The crash led to a temporary closure of the 3900 block of Whaleyville Boulevard for nearly six hours before reopening. The deceased driver, identified as 69-year-old Alvin Lee Ward from Suffolk, has been named by the police. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
