1 dead, 1 recovering after crash between motorcycle and car in Antelope
(FOX40.COM) — One person is dead and another is in the hospital after a crash between a motorcycle and a car early Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP said officers responded to reports of a crash just after 3:30 a.m. at the intersection of Elverta Road and Northam Drive. Officers arrived to find a crash between a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Hyundai. CHP confirms that the motorcyclist, identified as a man, died. The driver of the Hyundai, also a man, was taken to the hospital after complaints of pain. The early stages of investigation determined that the motorcycle was traveling through the intersection when it crashed with the Hyundai that was turning onto Elverta Road. CHP said officers are looking at nearby surveillance to determine exactly how the crash happened. "We're not sure that alcohol is a factor in this crash, and we don't know the exact speeds, but it was at a speed enough from the motorcycle--enough--to cause this fatal crash, where the vehicles met," Sergeant Curtis Glace with North Sacramento CHP said. Anyone with any information is asked to contact CHP at 916-348-2300.
