Woodford County EMS chief offers road safety advice after fatal crashes

In the past two days, there have been two tragic and fatal accidents on local roads in Central Kentucky. One incident involved the death of Micah Smith, a 49-year-old man from Lexington, who was hit by a vehicle while crossing East New Circle Road. The second accident occurred on I-64 in Woodford County, resulting in three fatalities and several injuries. Authorities are investigating both incidents. Woodford County EMS director, Drew Chandler, emphasizes the importance of traffic safety and advises drivers to minimize distractions, such as securing pets in carriers. He also suggests knowing alternative routes and giving ample space to larger vehicles like semis. Chandler stresses the importance of following speed limits to prevent accidents and disruptions on the road.
