Woman tries to escape deputies after fleeing accident, according to sheriff's office

24-year-old Jasmine Cooper from East Point is currently in custody at the Coweta County Jail without bond. This is following an incident where she allegedly refused to stop for deputies after being involved in a car accident on I-85. Reports state that Cooper's vehicle was hit by another car while stopped in the travel lanes. After driving off, a witness followed her and alerted authorities. Deputies attempted to stop her, but she refused to pull over. They eventually used a technique called the PIT maneuver to disable her vehicle. Cooper was then taken to Piedmont Newnan Hospital for medical evaluation, during which she reportedly became agitated and damaged some medical equipment. Cooper now faces multiple charges in connection to the incident and remains in custody at the county jail.
