Woman from Knoxville honored with 'Key to the City' for rescuing car crash survivor in Missouri

A Knoxville woman, Jada McMillan, was recently honored with the Key to the City in Sedalia, Missouri, for her heroic actions in rescuing a car crash victim. McMillan, a graduate of Hardin Valley High School and a U.S. Air Force aerospace medical technician stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base, witnessed a crash while driving home from work in July. Together with another airbase employee, Darci Curtis, she sprang into action to help the victim, ShiAnn. Despite initially hesitating to move ShiAnn due to her injuries, McMillan ultimately helped rescue her from the smoking car. ShiAnn's mother, Melissa Johnson, received a call from McMillan informing her that her daughter was safe. ShiAnn suffered serious injuries in the crash and is still in recovery. In a heartwarming turn of events, McMillan was later surprised with the Key to the City by the Mayor of Sedalia. She received the award and had the opportunity to meet ShiAnn's grateful family, an experience she found even more rewarding than the honor itself. Darci Curtis, the other rescuer, also received the Key to the City.
