
Woman accused of intoxication manslaughter following Labor Day collision
A woman has been accused of causing a fatal crash on Labor Day on East Ben White Boulevard in Austin. The incident, which occurred at around 9:46 p.m., involved two vehicles. The driver, Sonia Ramos, 21, was arrested for intoxication manslaughter, while her passenger, Sheyla Alejandra Mascorro, 21, tragically did not survive the crash. This incident marks Austin's 71st fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 75 fatalities, an increase from the 59 crashes resulting in 64 deaths on the same day in 2024.
