UPS cargo plane crash kills man and his 3-year-old granddaughter
The UPS plane crash victims have been officially identified, two weeks following the tragic incident in Louisville, Kentucky. The cargo plane heading to Hawaii crashed shortly after takeoff, with reports suggesting it was engulfed in flames and may have lost an engine during its ascent. The plane collided with a petroleum recycling facility and an auto parts business, scattering debris over half a mile. Louisville authorities confirmed a total of 14 victims, including three UPS crew members and others on the ground. Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg paid tribute to the victims on social media and shared their names, emphasizing community support for their families. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash, and action has been taken to ground similar aircraft models until further notice. The UPS hub in Louisville, which plays a significant role in the company's operations, has since resumed its regular services.
