Update: One dead, one injured in La Place crash
Latest Update: At 4:45 p.m., the intersection of U.S. Route 36 and Illinois Route 32 near La Place has been reopened after a fatal collision involving two semis earlier in the day. State Police reported one fatality and one person hospitalized due to the crash. The incident occurred at 10:45 a.m. when a northbound semi entered the intersection and was struck by a westbound truck on Route 36. Sadly, the driver of the westbound truck was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The driver of the northbound semi was also hospitalized. As of 1 p.m., the intersection remained closed.
