Two teenagers die in Wellsville car accident
Tragic news out of Wellsville, New York, as two adolescents lost their lives in a car accident early Saturday morning. According to New York State Police, a 17-year-old driver veered off Tarantine Boulevard and crashed into a utility pole at around 2:30 a.m. Sadly, 17-year-old Derrick J. Smith and 18-year-old Gavin Odell, both from Canisteo, who were seated on the driver's side, were pronounced deceased at the scene. The four other teenagers in the vehicle sustained minor injuries and were taken to Jones Memorial Hospital. Police reported that there were no indications of impairment, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
