Two individuals killed in a Carbon County collision
Tragic news from Carbon County on Monday, September 29, 2025, as a fatal two-vehicle collision resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The incident occurred on Highway 212 near Joliet at 7:25 pm when a Chevrolet Suburban struck a horse before colliding head-on with a Chevrolet Malibu. The Suburban overturned and caught fire, claiming the lives of both drivers who were the sole occupants of their vehicles. The driver of the Malibu, a 28-year-old woman from Texas, was not wearing a seatbelt. The identity of the Suburban driver and further details are pending release. The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating and suspects alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the accident.
