Two individuals detained following deadly collision in south Athens.
Two men in southern Athens were arrested following a deadly traffic accident on Poseidonos Avenue near Kalamakiou Avenue. A 65-year-old municipal sanitation worker lost her life when a 23-year-old taxi driver crashed into the rear left side of a municipal garbage truck. The taxi driver and the 58-year-old garbage truck driver were detained and are undergoing blood tests to check for substances. They are scheduled to face a prosecutor today. A 39-year-old Australian passenger in the taxi was also injured but received treatment at Red Cross Hospital for minor injuries.
