
Two individuals accused of driving while intoxicated in 2024 deadly collision
In Lake St. Louis, two men are facing charges of driving under the influence in connection with a fatal crash that occurred in 2024. The tragic incident took place early in the morning on December 14th on Veterans Memorial Parkway. The Missouri State Highway Patrol report revealed that a collision between a Cadillac and a Dodge Durango resulted in the death of a 62-year-old female passenger in the Cadillac. Investigations showed that neither the woman nor the Durango driver were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The Durango was reportedly speeding between 85 and 90 miles per hour in a 50 mph zone. The driver of the Durango, Kevin R. Jenkins, was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and drugs and had a blood alcohol content of 0.21%. The Cadillac driver, Mark A. Hazeltine, admitted to consuming alcohol before the accident and had a blood alcohol content of 0.122%. Both Jenkins and Hazeltine have been charged with DWI - death of another and are currently in custody with a $100,000 cash-only bond. Details on their court appearance have not been disclosed yet.
