Two fatalities and six injuries result from two crashes on Maryland's Eastern Shore on Saturday night.
Two individuals have passed away and six others have sustained injuries in two separate accidents on Maryland's Eastern Shore on Saturday night. The first crash occurred just after 11:20pm in Centreville, where a 20-year-old motorcyclist collided with a GMC Acadia at an intersection. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while the occupants of the GMC were hospitalized. Route 301, where the incident took place, was closed for about two hours before reopening. In a second incident in Chestertown about thirty minutes later, a 17-year-old died in a crash involving a Ford Fusion. The vehicle struck a utility pole and overturned, resulting in injuries to all occupants. The driver had to be airlifted to a trauma center. Authorities suspect impairment may have played a role in this crash. Route 213 was closed for two hours and reopened early the following morning.
