Two deadly accidents in Cherokee County.
Two tragic accidents occurred near Gaffney, South Carolina on Thursday, approximately an hour apart. The first incident took place at around 5:30 p.m. on Concord Road, where a Chevrolet pickup truck veered off the road, overturning after hitting a ditch. The driver, identified as 49-year-old Kelvin Bernard Fernanders, tragically passed away at the scene. Shortly after, at 6:15 p.m., another crash was reported at the intersection of SC 150 North and Grassy Pond Road. A Ford pulled into the path of a pickup truck, resulting in the passenger of the Ford, 77-year-old Linda Tate Greene, being taken to Cherokee Medical Center, where she later died. Autopsies are set to be conducted on both victims as part of the coroner's investigation.
