Truck theft chase leads to freeway crash in L.A. County
A stolen white Chevy Silverado truck was involved in a pursuit that ended in a crash on the 5 Freeway in Santa Clarita on Wednesday morning. Officers from the Newhall station started chasing the truck after it refused to stop at around 9:22 a.m. The driver continued onto the freeway before crashing near the Calgrove Boulevard exit at approximately 9:30 a.m. The truck sustained notable front-end damage and came to a stop on the right shoulder wall. The driver was arrested by the California Highway Patrol, although it's unclear if they were injured. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
