
Truck driver killed in train collision near Guadalupe.
UPDATE: Sadly, the California Highway Patrol has confirmed that a truck driver lost his life in a collision with an Amtrak train near Guadalupe. Earlier on Wednesday, the train crashed into a fuel truck causing the driver to sustain major injuries and stranding more than 250 passengers. Emergency services reported that besides the driver, three others were hospitalized with minor injuries. A passenger on the train, Kate Wells, described the moment of impact as she observed debris outside her window. Fire officials now estimate the fuel spill to be around 3,500 gallons. Despite the challenging situation, all passengers were eventually transported to their destinations by bus with the help of the authorities. Passenger Leah Gladden shared her experience of the incident, highlighting how the aid provided by officials was appreciated. Fortunately, the train did not derail, and the investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
