
Tragic accident results in loss of 2 young lives.
A deadly collision in Aurora on Friday afternoon involving a Suzuki motorcycle and an Acura SUV resulted in the deaths of a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man, according to Aurora police. The crash occurred at the intersection of E. Arapahoe Road and E. Peakview Drive at approximately 3:30 p.m. It was determined by authorities that the 18-year-old man was operating the motorcycle at a high speed heading east on E. Arapahoe Road when he collided with a westbound SUV making a left turn onto E. Temple Court. Tragically, both the driver and the passenger of the motorcycle were killed in the incident. The driver of the SUV, the sole occupant, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. The APD's Traffic Investigations Unit was called to investigate the scene, leading to the closure of the intersection for several hours before reopening around 9:43 p.m. The victims' identities have not yet been disclosed, but one of the individuals is believed to have been a student at Grandview High School. It is currently unknown if any citations were issued in connection with the accident.
