Tragic accident kills 19-year-old in Evangeline Parish
A 19-year-old from Ville Platte, Brian Walker, tragically lost his life in a fatal crash in Evangeline Parish. The incident occurred last night around 10:00 p.m. on U.S. 167 near Filly Lane. Louisiana State Police are investigating the single vehicle fatality crash, where Walker was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado north on U.S. 167. The vehicle exited the roadway and overturned in a right curve. Unfortunately, Walker, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained serious injuries and passed away after being taken to a local hospital. Officials suspect impairment to be a factor and have taken toxicology samples for analysis. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
