Traffic Update: Accident on Bangerter Highway in Draper results in critical injuries and hospitalization
A collision between a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle on eastbound Bangerter Highway in Draper has led to the closure of several lanes and the shoulder, resulting in traffic delays. The incident resulted in severe injuries to one individual. According to Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), the crash occurred at the intersection of eastbound Bangerter Highway and 500 West in Draper. All lanes heading eastbound are currently shut down, and drivers are being redirected to 600 West, causing significant congestion. Sergeant Mike Alexander of the Utah Highway Patrol informed ABC4 that the accident involved a passenger car and a motorcycle, with the motorcycle driver sustaining critical injuries. The injured individual is currently being transported to a nearby hospital. UDOT anticipates clearing the area by 5:30 p.m., although this timeframe is subject to change.
